Programa

 Over the duration of the course, participants will develop a deeper understanding of more advanced powerboating skills, such as maneuvering in confined spaces, recovering a man overboard, and using electronic navigation tools effectively. The course will cover the following subjects:

• Boat Handling – Advanced techniques for maneuvering a powerboat in various conditions (e.g., tight spaces, docking).

• Navigational Skills – Using charts, compass, and basic GPS for safe route planning and navigation.

• Planning and Running a Passage – Understanding how to plan a journey, including weather assessment and route selection.

• Handling Different Weather Conditions – Operating in varying sea conditions, including rough waters and limited visibility.

• Towing and Rescue Techniques – Using proper techniques for towing a disabled vessel or rescuing individuals from the water.

• Safety and Emergency Procedures – Understanding distress signals, man overboard drills, and emergency response protocols.

• Handling Different Types of Powerboats – Operating various powerboat types, including those with inboard and outboard engines.

• Understanding Engine Systems – Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the engine and other critical systems onboard.

Requisitos

• Candidates should be competent to the standard of Powerboat Certificate Level 2.

• Knowledge to the level of Day Skipper theory is recommended.

• It is strongly recommended that the candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF/SRC operator's certificate

• Candidates should be at least 16 years old.

O Intermediate Powerboat tem a duração de dois dias completos das 09:30 às 17:30.
