RYA Diesel Engine

The inherent simplicity of diesel engines makes them very reliable, but like any machine, they are not entirely infallible.

Since many aspects of seamanship involve risk reduction and knowing how to act when the unexpected occurs, it is no surprise that the same applies to diesel engines. A competent skipper will maintain the engine in optimal condition, ensuring it operates correctly, and will also know what to do in the event of a performance fault.

This course lasts a full day (8 hours), taught in the classroom with some practical components.

All RYA courses are conducted in English.

The Oeiras Marina offers quick access to a high-quality waterway. It has modern, high-quality facilities supporting sailing practice, including restaurants, shops, changing rooms, security, and parking.

Its location at the entrance to the Tagus estuary allows open-water sailing in clear waters or more sheltered sailing within the Tagus.

Proximity to Cascais and Belém, as well as quick access to destinations like Sesimbra, is also a notable advantage.
