We have been operating for 20 years and train over 1,000 students every year — from beginners to professionals. We are an internationally recognized recreational boating school offering two training schemes for sailing or motor vessels, available in Portuguese or English.

We offer RYA (Royal Yachting Association) certified courses, both practical and theoretical, as well as training for Portuguese Recreational Skipper Licences (official certification managed by DGRM). We provide world-class sailing and motorboat training for everyone who wishes to start or improve their skills in the art of navigation.
The practical courses are taught on cruising sailboats over 10 meters long or on our 6.4-meter, 175HP motorboat. We have a fleet of four sailboats and one motorboat — all top-of-the-line and fully equipped for training.
RYA theory courses are taught either in the classroom or online, using modern and constantly updated learning programs and resources. There are navigation theory courses that support the practical ones, as well as one-day specialist courses designed to deepen specific skills — such as radar, sea survival, or VHF radio, among others.
Sailing Training
To start sailing, there are two recommended options: “RYA Start Yachting” (2 days) or “RYA Competent Crew” (5 days), both practical courses with the option to stay on board. For a theoretical introduction, we recommend the“RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship”, available online. These courses provide a solid foundation of knowledge and essential skills for anyone looking to start sailing safely and confidently.
Motorboating Training
If your goal is to get started with motorboats, you can begin with the"RYA Powerboat Level 2" which is a fully practical course with 2 days of hands-on training on board. We recommend the theoretical course “RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship”, available online, for an initial introduction to the supporting theory. These courses are ideal for developing essential skills and starting to motorboat safely.
Portuguese Skipper Licences
In Portugal, recreational skipper licences are mandatory for the legal operation of recreational vessels. The Marinheiro is ideal for those who want to operate jet skis, small boats, and take their first steps into the world of boating. For those aiming to navigate larger distances and gain experience with night navigation, the best option is to start directly with the Patrão Local.
These courses include both theoretical and practical components, followed by a formal exam, with a skipper licence issued upon successful completion.
For holders of RYA competency certificates at a minimum level ofRYA Day Skipper(sailing) orRYA Powerboat Level 2 it is possible to apply for a ICC (International Certificate of Competence)

If you just want to try sailing, you can choose one of our experiences "Go Sailing" or "Learn to Sail".
This is an excellent way to see if you enjoy sailing or simply to enjoy a day sailing between Lisbon and Cascais. On board our experiences, you will learn.
