RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship

This online course aims to provide fundamental navigation and safety knowledge. It is ideal for beginners in boating, whether sailing dinghies, cruising yachts, motorboats such as speedboats or RIBs, or simply for anyone passionate about sailing.

If you need assistance, our instructors are available to support you, answer your questions, and guide you through the course.

Upon successful completion of the entire programme, including the final test, you will also receive your RYA certificate by post.

All RYA courses are delivered in English.

Requirements

There are no prerequisites for this course. However, it is more suitable for powerboaters and beginner sailors.

It is particularly useful for those who have completed or plan to take RYA Powerboat Level 2, RYA Start Yachting, RYA Competent Crew..

Duration

You can start your course immediately while waiting for these materials. The course takes a minimum of 6 hours to complete but you have up to 1 year to finish. Study at your own pace and anywhere. At minimum, 6-8 hours are required, but additional study and reading time is recommended to deepen your knowledge.
